KYSA TEAMS BRING HOME FIVE MEDALS FROM PROVINCIAL B CUP

KAMLOOPS, BC –– The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association (KYSA) Select teams return home with five medals following the Les Sinnott Memorial Boys B Cup and the Girls Provincial B Cup.

In Prince George, the U16 Boys (head coach Victor Lizzi) won gold by a score of 4-3 over two-time defending champions Wesburn Galaxy. The U13 Boys (head coach Austin Pietramala) took bronze with a 2-1 win over the host PGYSA Impact A. The KYSA U14 Boys (coached by Tony Cuzzetto/Tristan Gough/Rob Thomasse) won bronze over U14 Boys (coached by David Ma/Fernando Silva/Todd Torchia) in a close battle that came down to the seventh shot of penalty kicks. The U18 Boys (coached by James Finley and Keith Hutchison) finished 8th in the province, losing on penalty kicks to Kootenay South Storm.

In Burnaby, the U18 Girls (head coach Mark Bell/assistant coach Sarin Warman) won the championship game in overtime against Pinnacles FC. The U17 Girls (head coach Frank Faraone/assistant coach Emily Mann) took home silver, with a 2-0 in their final game against Prospect Lake/Peninsula. The U14 Girls (head coach Terri Hansen/assistant coach Chuck Parken) finished 4th in the province losing on penalty kicks, while the U15 Girls (head coach Jordy Orsetti/assistant coach Paolo Munegatto) finished 6th.

KYSA’s Summer Inclusive Drop-in Program gets underway July 15, with drop-in sessions at McArthur Island on Mondays from 5:30pm to 6:45pm. Sessions are provided free of charge, with a request for a donation to the Kamloops Food Bank. All ages (U4 to U18) and abilities are welcome to attend.
