EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

A not-for-profit organization, the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association (KYSA) is governed by a seven-person volunteer board of directors and is a full member of BC Soccer. The association operates year-round and offers select and house league programs and coach/player development initiatives in a city with unparalleled recreational facilities.

The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association owns and operates the Warner Rentals Soccer Dome. The Dome functions mainly as an indoor soccer training facility. It is also booked by other organizations for training and functions.

KYSA’s Spring League includes a small-sided program for U8 to U13 age groups. These games require referees, which will be allocated by the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association.

The association is currently seeking a part-time Dome and Referee Administrator. This position will be approximately 20 hours per week with no hours required in July and August, however requirements are subject to change per organizational needs.

Position Outline

The main tasks and duties of the Dome and Referee Administrator are:

  • Scheduling staff to work all required shifts
  • Receive and schedule all bookings
  • Complete the required booking administration including
  • invoicing
  • confirming proof of insurance
  • completing rental agreements
  • completing participant waiver forms
  • Maintain communication with KYSA Office
  • Maintain and manage building facilities
  • Assign referees to all small-sided games and ensure correct compensation
  • Schedule and attend small-sided clinic for officials and promote it within the KYSA membership
  • Set up mentorship program for small-sided referees

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience working in an administrative capacity
  • A strong organizational drive
  • A keen interest in youth soccer is required
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • An Administrative Diploma is an asset
  • Previous coaching experience is an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends
    Successful applicants will be required to pass a criminal record check

Compensation

The hourly wage for this position is $15.00.
