KYSA FREESTYLE FOOTBALL PROGRAM

What is Freestyle Football?
Freestyle Football, also known as Freestyle Soccer in North America, is the art of self-expression through creatively juggling as a football using any parts of the body, excluding the elbows to the hands. About Julian

Julian Muckle is a 17 year old freestyle footballer. He has played soccer for KYSA for 8 seasons, coached soccer at KYSA for about a year, and now he gets to coach freestyle football as well. He currently plays for KYSA’s 2005 boys select team as well as competes in national and international freestyle football competitions.

Ever since he kicked a soccer ball for the first time back in 2013, soccer has been his favourite thing to do. Everywhere he goes he has a ball at his feet. People used to think it was a little weird, but now everyone has just got used to the fact that the soccer ball is a part of him. If he goes somewhere the ball goes too. He loves anything that uses a soccer ball and his feet, whether that be playing soccer, nutmegging people, or doing trick shots.

In 2020 he discovered freestyle football for the first time.

“I want whoever I teach to take the things they learned through freestyle: determination, perseverance, teamwork, work ethic, self expression, creativity and apply these things to everything else they do in life.” – Julian Muckle
