~ KYSA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ~

Applications for Kamloops Youth Soccer Association Scholarships will be accepted until May 31, 2010.
Two scholarships are available: $500 for one female and $500 for one male student graduating from Grade 12 or in their first year of post secondary education will be awarded.
 
KYSA Annual Scholarship Awards are financially supported by the KYSA's major sponsors, Wendy's and McDonald's.

KYSA Scholarship Application Rules and Regulation:

1. Scholarships of $500 shall be awarded by the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association to one female and one male successful applicant who has been involved in the Kamloops Youth Soccer Program. Preference will be given to those candidates that have been members of KYSA for a number of years.

 

2. Scholarships shall be awarded to:

 

• Students proceeding from Grade 12 to a University of other post secondary institution approved by the Scholarship Committee

 

• Students already attending post secondary institutions, but are under 18 years of age as of January 1 of the current year.

 

3. Scholarships are conditional in that funds will be withheld until such time as the recipient provides proof that he/she is attending an accredited post secondary institution.

 

4. Candidates Must:

 

• Complete the application in full and provide all required information, documents and letters in order of their application to be considered

 

• A candidate must have proficiency in soccer as indicated by their worthwhile contributions in playing, coaching, refereeing or administration of the game.

 

• A candidate must demonstrate good citizenship, character, leadership and sportsmanship.

 

5. The Following Must Accompany the Application:

 

• Letters from the Principal or Post Secondary Administrator certifying the candidate’s age, character, ability and participation in school activities.

 

• A transcript of the student’s marks or a photocopy of the permanent record card. If neither is available a typed copy of the permanent record verified by the Principal or Post Secondary Administrator’s signature will be accepted.

 

• A letter from the Coach or team official indicating the candidate’s character, leadership, sportsmanship and participation in community activities was ell as information regarding the candidate’s soccer ability or contribution to refereeing, coaching or administrative involvement.

 

• The signed League Executive form (attached).
