2010 Registration
Children born in the years 1992 through 2005 are eligible to join the KYSA for the 2010 season (no exceptions).
House Registration and Team Formation Policy
Overview
The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association Registration and Team Formation Policy was approved by the KYSA Board of Directors on October 1, 2007 to be put in place for the 2008 and subsequent soccer seasons. This policy was developed to formalize and standardize the forming of both mini and youth house soccer teams.
The development of this policy took into consideration input from coaches, parents, AND players, as well as staff members and Board of Directors of KYSA. It has been designed to support the KYSA mission statement to provide a fun and safe environment that includes sportsmanship and fellowship amongst the youth in Kamloops.
Registration:
KYSA registration forms will be accepted after November 1, 2009 for the 2010 soccer season. All completed and paid registration forms/fees must be received by the KYSA office by February 1, 2010 to avoid late penalties and the possibility that there will not be a place on a team for your child.
Post-dated cheques will be accepted but they must be payable by February 1, 2010. If they are not, or if they are returned as insufficient funds, the registration will be withheld until it is paid in full. Any NSF costs applied to KYSA will be added to the unpaid registration fee.
If your child has not been registered with the KYSA before, a copy of the child’s birth certificate must accompany all new player registration forms.
Registration Fees: Before Feb. 1/10 After Feb. 1/10
Mini-Soccer (U-5 to U-10) $135.00 $160.00
Youth Soccer (U-11 to U-18) $155.00 $180.00
*A discount is offered to parents registering three or more children from the same family. The discount is $50.00 off the total registration cost.
Payments can be made by cheque, money order, cash, Interact, Visa or MasterCard. All cheques or money orders should be made payable to the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association. NSF cheques are subject to a $25.00 service charge. Any players registering after February 1 will be placed on a team only if space is available. There is no guarantee that the player will be placed on a specific team after February 1!
Team Formation Policy
From February 1, 2010 onward, KYSA mini and house soccer teams will be formed as follows:
1. The U-5 division will be made up of mixed teams of boys and girls. All U-6 teams will consist of all-boys or all-girls and play on different nights. All U-5 and U-6 players will be placed on a team of players from their own community, where possible. As these children move through the years of play they will be generally placed on a team of players from the same area of Kamloops.
2. All players registered in the previous soccer season year will be placed on that year’s team where possible, unless a request is made by the parent to switch to another team.
3. Until KYSA receives all registrations, it is difficult to forecast the outcome of a child's team placement. Once it is known how many players are registered, KYSA staff and volunteers start to put the teams together. KYSA tries to place players on the same team as the previous year when requested to do so, but occasionally players do get placed outside of their area if there is no other alternative. Although the Association does its best, there is always a small chance a child may be placed on a team that does not include his friends. If a player decides not to play soccer because they are not on a team with their friends, a refund will be granted less a $25 administration fee.
A cancellation fee of $25.00 will be enforced for any cancellations after registration is accepted regardless of the date registered during the registration period. There will be no refunds given after April 15, 2010 except in cases where a serious injury causes the player to withdraw or medical conditions prevail that will prevent a child from continuing in soccer (minus cancellation fee).
If a request is made for a player to be placed on a different team, for any reason, KYSA will place the player on the next geographically closest team when possible. NOTE: The School District #73 does not devise their catchment areas using postal codes therefore a child may or may not end up on the same team as his or her schoolmates.
